Area Preparation:

Surfaces to be coated must be clean and dry. Remove all loose, peeling paint, dirt, grease, and any other surface contaminants. Putty all nail holes and caulk all cracks and open seams. Sand all glossy, rough and patched surfaces. This product is self-priming for previously painted walls and ceilings in good condition. However, when applied to new drywall, two coats are required with the first coat acting as the primer. Uncoated substrates, repaired surfaces, or lightly stained areas may require more than one coat. For severe stains, water marks, and other challenging conditions, use a premium problem solving primer.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust or fumes. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST OR FUMES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the paint I expected.. I have used Gledden paint semi-gloss paint in the past to paint my kitchen. I loved the way it went on, the durability of the paint, and the washability of it. So when I recently decided I would redo my bathroom and saw the HD was selling Glidden paint, I decided to use it. Boy what a nightmare! This paint is no way like the paint I bought in the past. I bought the Diamond interior latex paint because it was the superior recommended paint. Wrong! This paint doesn't cover well, having to use two coats, when removing tape the paint peels off, its very thin, nothing like the paint I used in the past. If you brush up against it after it dries it leaves marks on the surface. I will never buy this paint again...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Coverage is poor, paint is very thin and dries VERY fast I purchased 3 gallons of Gliddon Diamond at the suggestion on the HD associate. I had just painted our guest bathroom with Gliddon Complete "Silver Streak" and it was awesome! One coat, no problems! So I agreed to try the Gliddon Diamond paint in raindrop white. Oh, how DISAPPOINTING! It is definitely NOT a one or even a two coat coverage, the paint is incredibly thin and it dried so fast that I could barely get the roller or the brush on the wall before I had to reload the roller/brush (funny enough it didn't dry rapidly in ALL spots though). In all I did 5 coats and I can still see the flat off white paint coming through in spots. Also, when going over a previous coat, the dried paint would come off. Very frustrating to be able to see brush strokes and roller marks. It didn't blend well at all. I watched the girl at the store add the color and put the paint into the "shaker" but when I opened the cans the colorant has separated from the base. I have only seen that happen when paint has sat for long periods of time. Maybe I got a bad batch?!?!?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not a one coat coverage paint I purchased the gliden diamond because i was told it would a one coat coverage paint. It definitely takes 2 coats. With just one coat the white original paint showed through in spots. I would have gone with a cheaper paint than the diamond had i known this before hand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coverage This paint and primer dodnot even come close to covering with one coat of paint. It will take two or more coats of this product. I would have been better off to prime it first. At least I could paint the second coat fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the coverage & NO odor! I am really impressed with this paint! I have painted many houses and my yoga studio, top to bottom, so I know what works. Glidden Diamond really goes on smooth, has zero odor, extremely easy to clean up (even little mishaps on the wood trim!), and has great coverage ... I only had to paint 1 coat! As I'm painting every room in my house, I'm going to go with this brand for the rest. Saves me time, and that's a big plus! I just wish I'd found it sooner for all my previous projects. (Trattoria Teal is a beautiful cool teal!)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointed with the way that it looks on my walls I found a paint color (Silver Swordplay) that I really like and thought would look great in my family room and kitchen. I went to Home Depot and purchased 3 gallons. I asked for flat paint and was sold flat ENAMEL. I questioned if the flat ENAMEL was the same as flat paint. I was assured that this was the flat paint that Glidden made and that it would dry flat. I had my doubts but trusted the paint department representative. I have now painted for 2 days and am VERY disappointed. This paint does not dry flat as I was told. I am disappointed with the sheen and the roller marks that I can see on my walls. But I do love the color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Brand of paint!! I've used this brand of paint for many years. It is washable and the color is still very vibrant after 6 years. I've never used the diamond one yet but I'm sure that I'll be satisfied. Getting ready to paint my kitchen again and honestly if I wanted to just wash the walls I could and they'd still look great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best all around paint. Have used many brands of paint over the years; always come back to Glidden for special projects. Doesn't matter what series; if it's Glidden paint, it does the job. Recently painted a room with dark walls using a much lighter color and did not use a prime coat. Coverage was excellent and took half the time to get the job done. Trimming with a brush blends well with roller application and leaves no brush marks. Not all paint is alike; Glidden works best for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love this paint! We used the eggshell finish to paint our walls in the kitchen and livingroom. We used Marine blue. The color is beautiful. We were surprised at how well it covered in one coat. We used the eggshell finish in pure white for the trim work and doors. It required two coats for the steel doors. We will use this paint in the future for all of our walls. It is not too thick and not too thin. Hardly any dripping when using a roller. We highly recomend this paint.

I bought this at Home Depot. as everyone says, it dries IMMEDIATELY I have to recarpet two offices because I spilled some paint on the carpets. the stuff dried immediately. when I bought some carpet cleaner it did NOTHING. I read that once Acrylic dries THE CARPET HAS TO BE REPLACED. and now I see that people have been complaining that it dries to fast? This is total negligence. I am in Miami so I am contacting "Help my Howard" on the local Fox news station. I shouldn't have to pay for two offices to have carpet replaced because I trusted Home Depot's recommendation. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad time with this paint I bought a quart of Glidden Diamond to paint trim boards in bathroom. It goes on like glue and dries way too fast! It even got tacky on the brush and I was only painting 8 foot boards! With other Glidden paints, you can smooth out the area to even out any brush marks. Not with this stuff. Very disappointed!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The pricing is great, the paint is not. My. Mom and I bought Glidden because it was recommended by the Home Depot sales rep. We bought three gallons. Washed I hadn't. The white paint I used for trim is peeling like a bad sunburned. The other one don't cover well and when dry look streaky. Since we are on a tight budget things just got a whole lot more expensive. On a bright spot the colors are beautiful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Diamond Glidden I have always used Glidden paint. Was so excited when diamond came out being that I have 3 kids. We just bought our first house. Been remodeling. Painting my daughter's room started with Glidden premium with the white. Then for an accent wall Glidden complete her ceiling the Glidden ceiling white all have worked great. Finishing the last three walls with Glidden diamond antique violet and it is peeling off the wall. If I don't paint fast enough it starts to stick to the brush no matter cheap brush or expensive tried both. When I pulled my painters tape off it peeled like cheap nail polish. I now have to repaint the three walls and retape . Wondering if it wasn't mixed right. Hoping home depot will give me a refund or replacement of a different Glidden paint to finish my daughter's room. Oh and the smell and odor is worse then the other three Glidden brand paint.

I will not waste my money again, I have to repaint all my walls with a quality product to get the look I want, This project will now cost me double the time, effort and dollars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disapointed with the coverage The 10 gallons of paint had a lot of skin on it Painters had a hard time with it always clogging up the sprayer Took 17 gallons to paint interior of 1700 sq ft home Kept having to run for more paint! Very costly even with the rebates. Coverage was not good at all!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good budget paint This paint is not premium paint, but it is pretty good for budget paint. If I wanted better paint I would shop at a paint store, but for one stop shopping at a home improvement store, this stuff isn't bad and is more affordable. The paint has low odor and applies smoothly. However, you will need to apply two coats for even coverage. I have used this to paint an exterior door and trim. The drying time was longer than expected, but the paint looks good when dry, has held up well and cleans nicely. I would us this paint again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product comes right off the walls with moisture I painted a bathroom with this paint. After 5 days of drying, after one shower the paint is literally peeling off the walls!!! The steam stays on the walls and leaves a sticky residue with a fan used- Absolutely the Worst paint I ever used!!! Now I have to sand and re-paint the entire bathroom again-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent coverage I used Glidden Diamond in a bathroom and am extremely happy with the results. It went on easy, covered in one coat, and was easy to clean up. I used to use another brand that Home Depot recommended, but their coverqge doesn't even compare to to Glidden Diamond. I love the new products Glidden has come out with the last couple years and will use nothing else on all my painting projects!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Coverage The walls I painted were a light / medium blue and I wanted to go lighter (I used Fossil Grey). I was thinking because of the lighter color it may require 2 coats to get even coverage. I was hopeful to only have to do 1 coat as I wanted this job done in a day. I am very happy to report that this paint has amazing coverage! One coat is all it took. Very easy to apply, easy to clean up. Overall great product. I attached a couple of photos (1 with flash 1 without) to show coverage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Denise From Cherry Hill We purchased this paint for our dining room. My husband does not paint very often, but this was easy for him to use, and the dining room turned out beautifully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Paint This was an easy project using Glidden Diamond™ Interior Eggshell. It did take two coats to cover a liter color but looked great once finished. Application was easy and clean up was also. Would recommend for your next home painting project.
