Glidden® High Endurance® Plus Exterior Paint & Primer, brings the quality you expect from Glidden to your outdoor projects. This performance latex paint is ideal for properly prepared or previously painted exterior wood, stucco, concrete, pre-primed and unprimed hardboard, fiber cement board, weathered aluminum, weathered vinyl siding*, and metal. The 100% acrylic formula protects against UV rays and resists color fading. It provides a mildew resistant coating that can be applied in low temperatures (above 35°F).

*Vinyl siding and similar plastic composites should not be painted with a color darker than the original color. Painting vinyl siding or plastic composites with a darker color may cause them to warp.

Details

Area Preparation:

Surface must be clean and dry. Remove all loose, peeling paint, dirt, mildew, grease, oil, chalk, rust, and any other surface contaminants. Repair all moisture problems. Blistering and peeling issues are commonly caused by moisture behind the paint lm. Putty all nail holes and caulk all cracks and open seams. Sand all glossy, rough and patched surfaces.The appropriate primer is recommended for all uncoated surfaces and special substrates such as tannin staining wood, preprimed and unprimed hardboard, new or chalky masonry, and bare metal.

Application:

Stir thoroughly. Apply with a high quality brush, roller, paint pad, or by spray equipment. When using more than one container of the same color, intermix to ensure color uniformity. No thinning is usually required. Where necessary, apply a second coat. Apply when air and surface temperatures are 35°F (2°C) or above and surface is at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point. Air and surface temperatures must remain above 35°F (2°C) for the next 48 hours. Avoid painting late in the day when dew or condensation is likely to form or when rain or snow is expected. On large expanses of metal, temperatures must be 50°F (10°C) or higher.
 
Application Temperature:

Apply when air and surface temperatures are 35°F (2°C) or above and surface is at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point.

Drying Time:

Normally dries in one hour at 77°F (25°C) and 50% relative humidity. Allow four hours minimum before recoating. At 35°F (2°C), dries to touch in three to six hours; allow 24 hours before recoating. Drying times listed may vary depending on temperature, humidity, color,  lm build, and air movement.

Coverage:

Approximately 300 to 400 sq. ft. (27.9 to 37.2 sq. meters) per U.S. gallon (3.78 L) on primed, smooth, nonporous surfaces. Coverage  gures do not include loss due to surface irregularities and porosity or material loss due to application method or mixing. Some colors or drastic color changes may require more than one coat to achieve a uniform finish.

Cleanup: 
 
Clean tools and hands immediately with warm, soapy water.

Recommended Substrates:

Ideal for use on properly prepared or previously painted wood, stucco, concrete, preprimed and unprimed hardboard,  ber cement board, weathered aluminum, weathered vinyl siding, and metal. Vinyl siding and similar plastic composites should not be painted with a color darker than the original color. Painting vinyl siding or plastic composites with a darker color may cause them to warp.
