Area Preparation:
Surfaces to be coated must be clean and dry. Remove dirt, mildew, grease and other surface contamination. Remove loose paint, excessive amounts of chalk, and efflorescence by wire brushing, scraping, sanding, and/or pressure washing. Putty all nail holes and caulk all cracks and open seams. Sanding is not required if the surface is properly and thoroughly cleaned. WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust or fumes. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST OR FUMES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a properly fitted NOISH-approved respirator and prevent skin contact to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the USEPA National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead. Follow these instructions to control exposure to other hazardous substances that may be released during surface preparation.
Application:
May be tinted to approximate the color of the topcoat. Stir thoroughly before and occasionally during use. Apply with a high quality brush, roller, paint pad, or by spray equipment. Do not thin.
Application Temperature:
Apply only when air, product, and surface temperatures are 35°F (2°C) and or above. Avoid exterior painting in direct sunlight or late in the day when dew or condensation is likely to form or when rain or snow is expected.
Drying Time:
Dry time at 77°F and 50% relative humidity. To Touch: 30 minutes May be topcoated in one hour. Drying is important to stain-blocking properties. For maximum stain resistance, allow 24 hours before applying topcoat. If drying conditions are poor (low temperature and high humidity), longer drying times are required to achieve stain blocking.
Coverage:
Approximately 400 sq. ft. (37.2 sq. meters) per U.S. gallon (3.78 Liters). Coverage figures do not include spray loss, loss due to surface irregularities and porosity, nor material loss when mixing.
Cleanup:
Cleanup tools with warm, soapy water.
Recommended Substrates:
Interior and exterior wood, masonry, plaster, wallboard, cement, brick, stucco, and cement composition board, aluminum and vinyl siding, and architectural plaster.
Warning:
Please refer to the Product Label, Technical Data Sheet (TDS) or Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for safety and detailed application instructions.
