The best way to fix paint drips is to prevent them in the first place. A paint like Glidden Max-Flex resists drips when used as directed. Prevent paint drips by maintaining a distance of 6 to 10 inches from the surface and keeping the can moving steadily.

If you do accidentally get a drip, you should allow the paint to dry completely. You can then use fine sandpaper to sand* down the drip until it is even with the surface of the rest of the paint. You can then reapply a thin coat to the area to even out the finish.

How to Unclog Spray Paint

From time to time, you might find that the spray paint nozzle becomes clogged. The first thing you need to know is that you should not stick any object, like a pin or nail, into the nozzle to try to unclog it. This could damage the nozzle.

Instead, you should twist the spray tip and pull it off. You can then rinse the tip in a solvent, like mineral spirits or paint thinner, for a few minutes. Wipe off the tip, then use the opposite twisting motion to put it back onto the can. If the tip is still clogged, repeat the process as needed.
